Annual Polar Bear Plunge

Sat., March 6th -- Aztec Sandbar, Seaside Heights

Radio station NJ 101.5's Big Joe Henry, "the Voice of the Plunge" broadcasts live from the Aztec Ocean Resort, the site of the Plunge. Registration begins at 9:00 AM. The Plunge will happen around 1:00 PM. For more information visit here.

McLoone's Asbury Park Grille Grand Opening 

Wed., March 9th - 11th  -- McLoone's Asbury Grille, Asbury Park Boardwalk

Formerly Salt Water Beach Cafe, McLoone's Asbury Grille is located on the first floor of Tim McLoone's Super Club. The menu serves a coastal meets American fare, to include a raw bar and an array of different burgers.  In celebration of Tim McLoone's grand opening of the Asbury Grille, 50% off lunch and dinner specials will run from March 9th-11th. And if you can't make if for the opening, check out their Happy Hour from 4-7 PM, Monday through Friday.

River City Extension 

Fri., March 12th -- Langosta Lounge, Asbury Park

Langosta Lounge hosts Toms River natives, River City Extension for a free live performance. Come enjoy an orchestral, punk inspired world-beat folk-rock band who is set to release their new album, The Unmistakable Man, in May of 2010. Show starts at 10 PM.

Saint Patrick's Day 2nd Annual Chef Cook-off

Wed., March 17th  – Fromagerie, Rumson

Looking for something different to do on St. Patty's day? Join David Burke for a Chef's Showdown St. Patrick's Day Tasting Dinner when he and DB Townhouse Chef Sylvain Delpique engage in friendly pot-to-pot combat against Fromagerie's former co-owner Hubert Peter and DB Fromagerie Chef Richard "Whitey" Calton. Hors d'oeuvres served from 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Dinner begins at 7:00 PM. A variety of Irish whiskey, wine and beer will also be served. Space is limited. Call to Reserve. $60 per person.

Casino Night

Fri., March 26th  – Lake Terrace, Lakewood

American Cancer Society's Tides of Change Gala 2010 presents Casino Night~ The Tides of Change Gala will be held on the 26th of March at Lake Terrace.  Approximately 300 guests will enjoy fine dining, a 50/50 raffle and casino games.  The Tides of Change Gala is organized by a committee of approximately 20 volunteers who, along with ACS staff, tirelessly devote their time and energy all year long to make this annual event a success.  The event is attended by the area's most prominent medical and business professionals as well as social and political leaders of the community.  To support a most worthwhile cause - THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. Proceeds go directly to fund services to help local cancer patients and their families, programs for cancer prevention and early detection, as well as national lifesaving research projects.  Tickets are on sale for $150.  To purchase tickets for for more information please call:  732-818-3517 x 22.

Stoke Fest

Sun., March 27th  – The Stone Pony, Asbury Park

The Jersey Shore chapter of the Surfrider Foundation presents Stokefest to raise funds for the foundation. Bands performing are: The Verdict, Glimmer Grass Band, Predator Dub Assassins with Stringbean, Matt O'Ree Band, Outside the Box, and Quincy Mumford. Doors open at 2:30 PM. Tixs are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. All ages permitted.
